A judge has told a 13-year-old boy found with a hammer strapped to his leg during the Manchester riots that he is fortunate he is not old enough to receive a custodial sentence.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was stopped by the police in Piccadilly Gardens shortly after 9pm on Tuesday night.
